1. HOW TO MAKE IT IN CHICAGO
Wednesday, December 7, 2016, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Dynasty Podcasts’ Jaime Black hosts How to Make It In Chicago, a panel featuring premier Chicago artists and makers sharing their strategies for building a highly successful brand in the city without moving to the coasts. Panelists include Hebru Brantley, Andrew Barber (Fake Shore Drive) and Austin Vesely (#Slice). This panel is free to attend but early arrival is recommended. Learn more here.

2. LADIES NIGHT CANDY RAIN
Thursday, December 8, 2016, 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
BMW Entertainment and Hands High Entertainment present “Candy Rain,” a.k.a. ladies night at MT Barrell in Schaumburg. Ladies are free all night, so bring the girls out for a night of good vibes and bar specials. If you come with a group of five women, you get a complimentary bottle of Champagne. Learn more here.

3. HARLEM FINE ART SHOW CHICAGO
Friday, December 9th – Sunday, December 11th 2016, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The Harlem Fine Arts Show (HFAS), the largest traveling African Diasporic art show and sale in the United States. They will be returning to Chicago from December 9th – 11th at Life Creative, 1655 West Walnut, in the West Loop. The show kicks off with youth empowerment day on Friday and ends Sunday with a live performance from The Society. Learn more here.

4. AMFM PRESENTS: THE JAZZ SERIES HOLIDAZE
Friday, December 9, 2016, 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
This December, AMFM Magazine pops up at Pilsen’s La Catrina Cafe for another installment of their popular Jazz Series. This time, they have set up a special holiday market filled with music performances and art vendors so you can gift creative goodies this holiday season. 5. VENDS + VIBES 2016: AN ARTS MARKETPLACE
Saturday, December 10th – Sunday, December 11, 2016, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Vends + Vibes: An Arts Marketplace is a two-day, one-block-long boutique winter marketplace of handmade crafts and unique productions by primarily South Side artists and creative entrepreneurs, soundtracked by local DJs and featuring creative activities for children and adults. The 2016 Vends + Vibes event will be held Saturday and Sunday, December 10th–11th from 1:00 p.m.– 5:00 p.m. on the UChicago Arts Block. 6. BLACK + BROWN AT CURRENCY EXCHANGE PRESENTS THE DESSERT SHOPPE
Saturday, December 10, 2016, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
BLACK + BROWN is a monthly programming series that explores how Afro-diasporic traditions and experimental ideas engender conviviality, multidisciplinary learning, and transcommunal engagement. This month, AfroQbano, Jennifer Ligaya, Viktor le. Givens, and Sherwin Ovid will explore the mythos of sweetness. Come out to the Currency Exchange Cafe for an unforgettable, immersive experience. 7. ART FOR THE PEOPLE: FTP’S DECEMBER SHOWCASE
Saturday December 10, 2016, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
If you have been wanting to support Black artists as well as artists of color during the holiday season while also meeting some revolutionary artists and viewing some rad Chicago movement art, look no further than the For The People (FTP) December showcase. Experience their artists, cultural workers, organizers, and activists who will be vending their brilliant work and celebrate FTP’s first birthday! They will also be highlighting their social works including #ByeAnita, #ShutDownChi, #RememberRekia, and #StopITOA. Learn more here.

8. WOMEN, WINE, AND WISDOM: CHICAGO
Saturday, December 10, 2016, 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

9. BRANDON JAMES & SOULOGY AT KREW ROCK LOUNGE

Brandon James kicks off his musical rejuvenation early by being a part of an amazing night of music.
